Wild flowers in Death Valley National Park
Cut off from rainfall and cooling Pacific winds by nine mountain ranges, Death Valley regularly records the highest temperatures in the United States. The colors of the mountains and rocks, the wildflowers, and the desert floor made up of tiny stones fascinate me. I love to visit in wintertime when temperatures are in the seventies.
